MINONK — Allen J. Kettwich, 68, Waite Park, Minn., formerly of Minonk, died Monday (Aug. 22, 2011) at home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness.
Allen requested that his body be donated to medical research. Memorial contributions may be made in Allen’s memory to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2025 East River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55419.
Born Dec. 3, 1942, in Streator, son of Orville and Freida Kettwich, he lived in Minonk; Rockford; Crown Point, Ind.; and Waite Park, Minn. At the time of his death, he was employed by Coborn’s Inc. as the director of manufacturing. Allen was a Master Mason, and was elected to the Upper Midwest Bakery Association Hall of Fame in 2009.
Survivors include his mother, Frieda Kettwich, Minonk; sister, Suzanne (Ron) Bruch, Grandville; children, Keith (Pamela) Kettwich, Mendon, Mich.; Kristy (Tim) Bunke, Rockford; Kirk (Danette) Kettwich, Oregon, Ill.; Stephanie (Doug) Lowery, Machesney Park; and Deann (Joe) Becker, Roscoe; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friends, Bruce and Joey Miller.
He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Kettwich, and wife, Pamela Kettwich.
