Todd Alan Kettwig (12 Aug 1967 – 20 May 2013)

Family, friends, the California Highway Patrol Gold Run Area and an entire community are deeply saddened to report the passing of Officer Todd Alan Kettwig. Born August 12, 1967, Todd grew up with a love of trains and the California Highway Patrol. Todd graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1986 and attended Diablo Valley College obtaining an Associate’s Degree in 1988. Todd graduated from the California Highway Patrol Academy on October 25, 1990, serving as the Gold Run Area public information officer. Todd remained an important member of the Gold Run Area Squad throughout a courageous 19 month battle with cancer. His tremendous work ethic will forever be remembered.

Prior to his assignment to Gold Run, Todd was assigned to Central Los Angeles, Oakland, South Sacramento, Truckee, and Ukiah (Fort Bragg Resident Post). Todd touched many people both professionally and personally. He will forever be remembered as a man who lived with a pure heart full of love.

Todd is survived by his loving wife Karie; daughters, Mackenzie and Megan; mother, Sue; father, Ken; brother, Darin; and numerous members of extended family.

Services will be held at St. Teresa of Avila Parish, 11600 Atwood Road, in Auburn. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Mass at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013. The memorial service begins at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 with a reception to follow.
