FLANAGAN — Florence Elsie Durre, 92, of Flanagan, died at 4:35 a.m. Sunday (Dec. 12, 2004) at the Good Samaritan Home, Flanagan.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan, with the Rev. Paul Lellelid officiating. Burial will be at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Petri Lutheran Church or the Good Samaritan Home, both Flanagan.

She was born on Sept. 16, 1912, at Livingston County, to Carl Kettwich and Minnie Harms Kettwich. She married Fred W. Durre on Feb. 14, 1939, at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan.

Survivors include her husband Fred W. Durre, Flanagan; one daughter, Carolyn (Emil) Blobaum, St. Joseph; two sons, Ronald (Betty Jo) Durre, Strawn, and Reynold (Sandy) Durre, Stevens Point, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, Flanagan. She taught Sunday school for over 42 years, sang in the church choir, belonged to the women’s bible study group and served as church organist for a few years.

Mrs. Durre was also active in the Mission Society.
