Marvlyn “Lynn” Kettwig (1938-2011)

Kettwig, Marvlyn “Lynn” 73, of Bonita Springs, FL, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family at Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs on Sunday July 17, 2011. Lynn is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Ronald J. Kettwig of Bonita Springs; her brother, Wesley Perkins and sister-in-law, Marlys Perkins of Butte, ND; daughters, Stephanie Lynn Kettwig of Bonita Springs; Amy Beth Jeffrey and her husband Bruce Jeffrey of Stony Brook, NY. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Rhiannon, Eowyn and Brendan Jeffrey, whom she loved dearly.

Lynn was born May 11, 1938 in Chicago, IL and later graduated from Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, MN on September 11, 1959 where she continued to work for four more years. During this time she met her devoted husband Ron on a blind date and they were married on September 17, 1960. Along with raising two children, Lynn enjoyed a variety of nursing experiences in her career, she established households in multiple states as well as England, and eventually became a doting grandmother to her grandchildren. She loved books, fall colors, cool weather and mussels with butter. We will miss her dearly.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs. Interment will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in St. Paul, MN at a later date. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Lynn’s name be directed to Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs FL 34135.
